He reiterated the key role that Peace and Sport played promoting sport for peace in Africa and inspiring youngsters to live under the principles of the Olympic values.
“This Awards goes to Joel Bouzou for his selfless commitment to global peace through sport in Africa. Since 2009 his dedication to the cause of peace has been a great source of inspiration to the organization itself and to many youngsters» explained Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa.
In his acceptance speech Mr. Bouzou urged young people from Ghana to maximize the use of sport for development and peace. He also encouraged youngsters practicing sport to act as messengers of peace and to work as a team.
“In the peace world what is important are the vision and the actions made everyday. If we all do that together, I am sure we can have a better world. I’m delighted that what we do in Peace and Sport is inspiring others and bring good results”.
Since 2009 Peace and Sport has been promoting sport for peace in the African country. Last May, Joël Bouzou had made his way to Accra, Ghana, to give a lecture to a conglomerate of business and investments groups. During the event, he reaffirmed the Peace and Sport ‘Sport Simple Solutions’ concept, which sees sports venues, equipment and rules adapted to accommodate limited resources or harsh environments.
