Peace and Sport releases its April6 report

Jun 28, 2019 | News

Peace and Sport is delighted to present its April6 sixth edition report dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.

On 23 August 2013 the UN General Assembly with the support of the International Olympic Committee declared April 6th as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This decision represented a historic step in recognizing the transformative power of sport and its boundless potential to advance positive social change.

To celebrate the 6th International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on April 6th, Peace and Sport encouraged the international community to engage in activities to promote the positive values of sport. This record-breaking mobilization resulted in 1150 projects in 136 countries and 98 million people reached by the #WhiteCard campaign.
