On Monday 3 October, the first ‘I Move for Peace Run’ took place, led by the event’s figurehead – world marathon record-holder Paula Radcliffe.
Close to fifty people turned out on this beautiful sunlit evening to take part in a group run in support of the ‘I Move for Peace’ crowdfunding program.
With Paula at the front, the group ran nearly 6 km in an effort to raise a maximum amount of money to donate to the 2016 Friendship Games in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
Their participation resulted in raising over 800€, which will finance meals for more than 250 children throughout the entire event, a great success!
Boosted by this achievement, we invite as many of you as possible to turn up for the next ‘I Move for Peace Run’ which will be held on 24 November 2016 during the Peace and Sport International Forum. Come and join us to run for peace! The group will meet at 8am in front of the Fairmont Hotel and have a unique opportunity to rub shoulders with many of our Champions of Peace who will also take part in the run.
